“You need the heat..”
Rob Lowe recently opened up about the secrets to his successful 31-year marriage with his wife Sheryl Berkoff.
In a recent episode of iHeartRadio's Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast, the 59-year-old actor highlighted the importance of finding the right partner and maintaining a strong friendship as the foundation for a lasting relationship.
Rob told host Bruce Bozzi: "Sheryl was and is my best friend. So if you marry for anything other than the fact that is your best friend, you're at a disadvantage from the jump because that will sustain when the other stuff ebbs and flows."

View post on InstagramHe emphasized that forgiveness and understanding are essential in a marriage, as well as being aware of which battles to fight.
The Unstable star also shared his belief in keeping the physical connection alive in a long-term relationship.
He said: "I do believe you need the heat for sure”.
"If you don't have the heat – and that's a chemical thing – I mean I still have it with Sheryl, you gotta keep the heat."
Rob and Sheryl, who have been married since 1991, first met while working together on the 1990 erotic thriller Bad Influence. They have two sons, Matthew Edward Lowe, 30, and John Owen Lowe, 28.
In July, the West Wing alum celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary with a heartfelt Instagram post, writing: "Happy 31st Anniversary, baby. Your love has made my world. You are as beautiful, knowledgeable, fascinating, kind, and hilarious as you were so many glorious years ago. Partners in love for life!!"
Last year, Rob told People that he had always seen something unique in Sheryl and felt "seen" for the first time in his life with her. He expressed gratitude for the chance Berkoff took on him, saying: "She saw things in me that nobody had ever seen before."
Rob described his marriage as one of life's greatest "miracles" and continued to praise his wife: "I still think she's the hottest, sexiest, most beautiful, insane, complicated, entertaining person that I know, in addition to being a great mother."
