Sunny days are here again for Balthazar and Rosetta Getty. Married for ten years and the parents of four adorable kids, the couple almost called it quits in mid-2008 — after actor Balthazar's racy affair with British actress Sienna Miller made headlines worldwide.

Since then, however, the spouses have reconciled, and have opened up for the first time about that rocky, highly publicized period.

"Here's the bottom line: It was a very challenging time for everybody involved," Balthazar, 35, admits in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar. (After he was photographed kissing a topless Miller, he and Rosetta separated in summer 2008; his relationship with Miller, 28, ended in May 2009.)

"But I loved and missed my family too much not to make it work," the star explained. "Rosetta is understanding enough and spiritual enough to let us try. In a way it–I don't know…I feel like we're better than we've ever been."

The happy-again couple posed in their L.A. home for pics for Harper's Bazaar with their kids Cassius, Grace, Violet and June.

Why did Rosetta, 40, take him back? "I believe we go through things in a public way to help other people get through it. I'd love to talk about it more with people when I’m clearer about it," the fashion designer says.

She adds: "I'm going to have to explain this to my daughters one day. I chose not to act from ego because I just felt like it would be too crushing for my children."

Balthazar muses: "You can do two things in life when an obstacle comes your way: You can tackle it, or you can allow it to break you down."
